Talking of Birds
All photographs © Phil Farrer

Ann and Phil have travelled to many parts of the world in pursuit of their joint interest in birds and they present a series of talks based upon these journeys. Each talk is well illustrated using their own photographs and has birds as the main theme but also includes aspects of environment, animals and plants.

Illustrated talks by Ann & Phil Farrer
Eider Duck, Scotland
Purple-thoated Woodstar, Ecuador
Elegant Scops Owl, Taiwan
Corncrake, Scotland
Masked Trogan, Ecuador

Ann was Group Leader of the Hemel Hempstead RSPB Members' Group (www.hemelrspb.org.uk) for 12 years and Phil is a Chartered Biologist and keen photographer.

Both have been very involved with the Red Kite release project in the Chilterns.

These talks are all digital presentations and each lasts between 90 and 100 minutes. It is suggested that they are best presented in two parts of 45 to 50 minutes with an interval between. Shortened versions of these talks are also available if required.

All equipment (projectors, screens etc) will be provided if not available on site, but you will need to ensure that blackout arrangements at the venue are adequate for a projection presentation.

Charges: a £40 donation to the RSPB is requested for a full length talk. The donation for a shorter talk by agreement.

Expenses: no expenses will be charged for talks at local venues. Reasonable expenses will be charged if outside the local area (mileage charges are currently 25p per mile). Overnight accommodation may be required if the location is more than 100 miles or one and a half hours drive from Watford.
